i was thinking of doing ag engineering in tralee but does anyone know a college closer to meath that you can do it in?
also does it have to be recognized by the Engineers Ireland crowd?
also is ther many jobs in the ag engineering sector? like what companies would be hiring now?
    thanks
    chris :)

Engineers Ireland accreditation is only relevant if you want to become a Chartered Engineer. This would be considered important in civil engineering. Not sure about agricultural engineering.

Also important for work abroad. Say in Australia..

What is involved in agricultural engineering?

I think they only do up to a level 7 in Tralee. I know a few lads who done it in Harper Adams, If you can afford to go there I'd take that option. You would be competing against the graduates of that course for all the interesting jobs in the UK.

Perhaps you should contact the course director and ask for figures of people that went into employment from the course.
They should have some records, a lot of colleges send out questionnaires after graduation & the course director more than likely acted as a reference to students. So they might have a list of prospective employers too...
