Hi all. Finally my log book arrived today but there is other problem.NCT will expire on 1/1/2014 .I have to do some work on it to pass but nothing major.I tried to book in Galway but there is no slots at all.Rang ''paty line'' and requested date within 4 weeks otherwise will be free :D Lady said no dates
available but she will come back to me...Anyway is there any hassle if I will be stopped at checkpoint with no NCT but with letter(email) stating apointment date?

BTW ,i still dont understand how come only 1 test centre in Galway town with some many cars registered and a lot of cars need to be tested every 12 months....
    Thx

Fairly sure it's a 3 lane centre in Galway. If your stuck to get an appointment just ring everyday and you will get a cancelation. although if you have to do work on the car the long date probably suits you.

Just get it booked mate. As long as a Gaurd sees proof that youve booked the test (say the letter of confirmation, a print of an email of the same with the booking ID or even the text on your phone) then they wont take it off you.
