Can anyone give me adivce on whether to get insurance with say gadget insurance.ie or apple+, I'm wondering about getting anything out of those insurance policies, I'm sure they have all sorts of conditions. I assume that claiming from apple would be more straight forward if something happened, I know apple+ doesn't include theft but I'd be more concerned with an accident or something like that.

Well Apple Care+ gives you additional hardware & accidental damage coverage of 2 years. So if you manage to smash your phone, it will cost you €69 on top of the €99 to get it replaced.

If you think there is a chance of you losing or having your phone stolen go for insurance.

Personally I would go Apple Care+ if you plan on keeping the same phone for 2 years. That way you're covered if anything goes wrong with it even when it's your fault. Just be careful when it comes to losing it or having it stolen ;)

This should also help you decide (it's about the US but similar rules apply here) http://www.imore.com/applecare-vs-insurance-vs-nothing-which-iphone-5s-iphone-5c-protection-plan-should-you-get
