    Hey guys!

Massive Dilemma. Which coat do I go for!? :D The one on the left is wool and the one on the right is Cotton but with cashmere lining. Can't decide for the life of me!

Need a good few opinions. Note: The left one will need to be altered in terms of height and the buckles on the sleeve may possibly have to be removed :/

The right one is bespoke so the sleeves and height will be fine. One hand of me is that the wool one will be trusty and you can handle any climate but the right one can be worn all year round and apparently it will be warm with that lining.

Left. There are too many distracting little accoutrements on the jacket on the right. The buckles are awful too, as is the perma-popped collar. Not too fond of how it wraps around either.

Definitely the one on the left.

They are both awful.. unless you're looking for a job in the SS.

One on the left. Find the one one the right quite feminine in design (......not saying this is a bad thing by no means, just find the cut and detailing quite feminine :) ). Also, wool will be much warmer for the winter.

The one on the left is a more classic looking coat. While I like the details on the one on the right it probably won't age well and will look dated in a year or too.

Left. I don't like the belt on it, but otherwise it's nice. The one on the right isn't nice at all, IMO.

Don't get either, I'd suggest investigating further. The one on the right is hilarious, I mean even look at that collar, it's ming the merciless' winter ware.

    Perhaps a good pea coat?

that's an insult to the SS - their uniforms were designed by Hugo Boss. They had style..

*interloper* defo the one on the left. It's a classic style that won't date(well it hasn't since world war 1) and it's wool, so it's going to be warm and generally harder wearing. The right will date like a pair of 1970's flairs.

Well... he was one of their many contractors, he didn't actually design their stuff and much of the officers outer jackets, especially leather were private purchase items(as were most "trench" coats of world war 1).

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Are you wearing it with a suit or casually?

I agree with the others, neither coat does it for me. I can make suggestions if I know when you'll be wearing it.

Hey everyone, thanks for the suggestions. General consensus from this forum is that you prefer the left.

It will definitely not be worn with a suit being a student, and it will probably be worn with black skinny jeans and a merino wool sweater underneath.

I agree the left is that timeless look which I really like but the right is bespoke so I can have it made to measure entirely. The collar on the right can be put down but at the same time I understand that over time, the right coat can lose fashion.

To give the low down, I'm looking for a belted coat.

Yeah i have to agree the one on the left, well as far as belted coats go,its really for men that are in shape, and can pull off a belted coat..

Wool in the winter for me is a must, think of what value you are going to get out of the coat for a start, cotton doesnt hold as much heat as wool,so that would have my mind made up on the issue.

The colder months are here and you want to wrap up with something substantial.
