Neighbours and noise

My next door neighbour is lovely, we get along insanely well. I get along with the people on the top floor of my building quite well. I have been in their place and had good fun.

The people who live right above me hate me, I think they wished I was dead. They've put up signs presumably aimed at me saying 'music is too loud late at night'.

The thing is, I just don't care.

How do all of the people of AH get along with their neighbours?

We get along because I dont play loud music at night

Headphones? Better for gaming, and i find with a small investment better for music. 7.1 surround with all the bells and whistles on me right now for less than a 3.1 system from argos

Too cool for school are ya, you`ll end up in a situation sometime where you're the one who`ll be complaining about the loud music

I have neighbours above me who hate me, even though I get on with all the other neighbours in my block. (8 other households) I reported them to the management company, because after several weeks of dumping their cigar wrappers on my balcony, even after I politely asked them to stop, they let two lit cigar butts fall onto it. A severe fire risk. Since then they stomp around their apartment and scrapping the furniture along the floor. It is worse since my baby was born, she is silent ALL night EVERY night, but is a bit of a moaner for parts of the day. I do my best to stop her crying, but babies do cry. She'll grow out of it, they sadly will never grow out of being *ssholes.

Noise? Isn't that the thing that comes out of the middle of our faces? The thing that makes smell go into head?

You will care when they get the gardai to pay you a visit, and they won't use a postit note.

Not to digress into a rant but to answer your question - I get along with my neighbors fine because we all pay each other basic common courtesy's one of which is no loud noises after 11pm, and that should go double in an apartment.

Why would the gardai do anything?

It's not illegal to be a little bit noisy.

In terenure, the left are bedsits and we just barely say hello to the tenants, on the right is the worst witch/neighbour from hell in Ireland. she has made up stories about my hubby insulting her at night cause he smokes at the door and not in the house. one night she told him to stop smoking and he just ignored her which is when the crap started.
now we just completely ignore her
In arklow both sides are polish families who couldnt be nicer, we all get on very well

Indeed. I had trouble with partying neighbours in my last apartment and the gardaí told me they would have a word, but could do nothing about it.

I suppose it depends on the definition of loud and quality of the structure. My bedroom is against my next door neighbours sitting room (genius construction) and the walls are paper thin. So they can watch their TV at a completely reasonable level, but I hear it as though it is next to me. One night I woke having dreamt of being attacked by a velociraptor only to hear the Jurassic Park theme and occasional t-rex roars. Same on the other side, we can tell what they are watching on tv if we don't have ours on.

Nah, cheap ones, if you are going to attempt arson on my home, at least do it with class!
