Hi......would love some help - not very arty or crafty at all, but I saw something I could make (I think).

It consisted of baubles of different sizes and colours all stuck together in a cone shape and stuck onto a coloured plate.

It looked fab, but I cannot find it anywhere on the web......so counting on you for a bit of direction.

What special glue should I use?

    Thanks

It really depends on what kind of base (cone shape) you are working on. If you are fixing the baubles to a polystyrene cone then I would suggest using something to pin the baubles in place rather than glue, some sort of wire hooks. My first thought is those hair pins that are used for putting up hair.

Otherwise you will need to use an adhesive that does not melt polystyrene, pva or wood glue would probably be ok, though it takes a while to dry. You can get glue specifically for gluing polystyrene. If you are using a card cone base, or no cone at all something like bostik would be ok, though again it depends on what the baubles are made of, you could find yourself just sticking the paint or covering, which will then flake off.

You could find that the baubles need a lot of adjusting and fiddling with to fill all the gaps, so I would suggest going the polystyrene/wire - think florists supplies rather than craft supplies - route.

you could stick the baubles to a cone with a glue gun - it doesnt melt polystyrene and theyll stick in seconds
