What is the best second hand car for €5000 ?
Any suggestions, don.t know much about cars.
Mainly city driving and some country driving.
    Thanks

Ok, here are some questions that might help us
Have you a max engine size?
What size of car would you prefer?
Do you have any must-have extras (aircon etc)
Do you have a preference for hatches/saloons?
    Do you need back doors?

There is no "best" car. Only best for what you want.
Old japs are usually good second handers as they score high on reliability charts.

Have a gander on adverts/donedeal/carzone etc and see if you can find something you like, then post links to the ads here and we'll give feedback.

In addition to colm's question above:
    Mileage weekly?
Will you drive alone or with family/kids?

Id say he means he doesn't need a hatchback or an estate :).

Focus itself would be a decent enough car imo if you go for the 1.6 petrol.

1.4s a bit slower - but sure take a drive - you might find the 1.4 perfectly fine.

Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla are also fairly good options I would say.

Theres some pretty knowledgeable guys on here - so if you see anything you like the look off - fire up a link on this tread - and the lads will do their best to advise on whether that make or model is any good.

    Best of luck

The best car to purchase under a budget of 5000 euro would possibly be Tayota Yaris or Honda Civic. They are very covenant for driving around the city as they are not large but spacious. They also do not take up a lot of petrol as other cars would like BMW, Mercedes or Audi.
