As Terry Tibbs would say Talk to me.

I'm thinking of one of these are Christmas. After having a gawk at quotes and reading up on Fuel consumption they seem to fit the bill of what I'm after. (Non Turbo Btw)

Try and get latest model possible, gen 2 rev 1s tail happy. Check t bar for leaks, easy fix but water can have damaged. Timing belt not too easy due to confine space but 3sge non interference.

I bought a 1991 jap import in 1998, and drove it until a couple of years ago, when it was only sold due to small children and I wasn't using it any more.

Have to say it was a fantastic car, never had any bother with it, bar the odd part that needed changed, due to age of course. It was 20yrs old when I sold it, and was still going great. The mechanic I used to do my annual servicing and parts said the engine would go on forever, it was so well built.

A fast car if you wanted it to be, but it held the road and cornered very well (except in very wet and snow of course!). I was getting nearly 30mpg out of it when driven sensibly around town and to commute.

Broke my heart to let it go but it would have ended up lying in storage rotting. For the prices you can get one at now, they are bargains and you will have a load of fun in it. Buy with confidence.

Are there many clean ones around. So many tarted up badly. Always liked these. test drove a few back in the day. Even then hard to find one that hadn't been messed with .

Relative to other jap stuff there appears to more honest MR2's around. They where always a fairly under rated car.

Might have the original showroom brochure for one of those at home. Wonder are they worth anything.

edit, seems theres loads on ebay, only about a tenner but a nice collectors item.
