HDD not showing up on router?

Just bought this Seagate 4TB HDD and connected it to my Vodafone EchoLife HG556a modem/router. It's not showing up on my router at all. Is it because the drive is too big as indicated here? Is there anything I can try to sort out this problem? Very frustrating, but probably my own fault! Thanks.

Managed to read the HDD by splitting it into 2 partitions. The only problem is that I can only access one of the partitions while connected to the router. Can anybody think of a way around this? Thanks.
