In their great rivalry Brady might be 9-4 playing Peyton. But I just can't see the Pats winning this one. Our reshaped offense is nothing like the elite offense it has been. It might finally be going in the right direction, but it's not there yet. The defense has punched above it's weight for most of the season. But it was no surprise we finally didn't manage a turnover in the last game for the first time in nearly 3 years. They'll be playing on fumes Sunday and I expect Peyton to severely punish them

Any other week id go for the Cowboys but I just think this team is getting better and it's the perfect time to completely blow open the division if it isn't already.

Also I think the Pats will beat the Broncos. Just one of those feelings.

First time in a long while a Saints vs Falcons game isn't going to be competitive with lots on the line, the Falcons look to have given up on their season big time. As things stand they have 2nd pick in their draft so possibly looking at Clowney.

Not to mention that the Dallas defence went to absolute pieces two weeks ago against the Saints once Sean Lee left the game, breaking a NFL record for number of first downs given up in a game. I'd imagine the Giants can put up a sufficient number of points on that D to win the match.

Giants also have home advantage too.

I realise I'm being very ambitious by stacking up on road wins (cough cough Chargers & Panthers please make it happen cough cough :)), I also basically ended up tossing a coin to try decide on the Colts vs Cardinals and the 49er's vs Redskins games as they seem to be very close calls....

Apparently Brees referred to it as his "Go Go gadget neck" moment.

    Wrong call though.

Nearly everybody picking Broncos over Pats, which surprises me. Brady after a defeat as an underdog, mad as hell, at home, in sub zero temperatures and high winds? Hell hath no fury..

Chargers at the very least cover. KC could be guilty of overlooking this one i feel given the most important game of their season is the following week and they could be flat after losing Sunday night. Defensively they're a very good side but i feel the stats were inflated by bad teams, backup qbs and a ten sack day against Terelle Pryor at home who looked completely lost out there. If Rivers gets time he can put 20 points on them and KC havent shown to be capable of putting up more than 17 points with Smith.

Jags could be in the hunt for their second win this season, especially if Kubiak throws Schaub late into a close game.
Just hoping the lions don't implode again this week against a resurgent buccs team.

    We agree for once.

I think this will be a bit of a shoot-out but I can't see the Pats defence stopping Manning. The Pats secondary is badly depleted and I think Manning will pick them apart.

The Pats offence is still dangerous and will put up points. However, I think the Broncos can get pressure up the middle on Brady. Gronk has always been a nightmare for the Broncos but for the first time the Broncos have a played who might be up to the job. I think that Trevathan can limit the effectiveness of Gronk and the Broncos will keep Brady in check just enough to win.

I'm not sure. It's set to be played in terrible weather, Brady is at home and the two situations where he plays his best football are as an underdog and after a defeat. He's both on sunday so i'm expecting an absolute blinder.

We dont NEED this, as long as we win in Kansas, it's just important we split the next two games and win out from then on to take the west and no.1 seed. I would like to see us finally get one over the Pats though, given we've ran into them four times in the past three years and got our arses handed to us each time. I'd worry a little bit that they'd just have the run of us if they were to win again sunday.

On the other hand, should we lose and rebound at Arrowhead, we'll be alright and likely left with the task of winning four easy enough games for homefield. I'd naturally rather as well to beat the Pats in a potential playoff match rather than Sunday, and two wins against them in one season doesn't happen a lot.

    We agree for once.

You'll probably be surprised to learn, that it isn't the first time we've agreed on something. I think I may have even thanked some of your posts. :D

Our offense might be starting to go in the right direction. But I fear you guys might run up the numbers.

Will probably stay til the half anyways. Nice TD drives by both sides. Falcons certainly didn't look like the worst team in the league in that quarter!

Having Jackson back could be a help for them in the run in, and with Sproles out today it could make for a considerably closer game than it would have appeared previously.

I'm far from his biggest fan, but that was a great bit of play from Matt Ryan.

Falcons fan here staying up. Could be a very good game. Some rookies stepping up for us.

One more example why the defensive pass interference rule is a farce. What should the DB do... jump out of the way?

Falcons should have got a flag next play mind.

refs get flack for call on brees last week and now worse offense not getting called. would agree on the pass interference. looked obvious on first look but replays showed he didn't do much

IF there were less refs, I would allow for those mistakes.

Do agree on the new hit rules and refs having it tough there, though. They really are in a tough spot on that and do tend to try and let the game flow as much as possible, which is why so few running back 'crown of the helmet' flags have been called so far (at least in the games I've been watching). On that note, countdown to a crown of the helmet penalty in 3, 2...

Compared to football refs, the NFL guys are still a god-send though.

Doing OK. 10 yards so far. Only being outdone by the rookie WR Darius Johnson who is cleaning up.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

What the hell was that!? He's been great so far, but Ryan really has to be willing to take the hit if he is going to take it down and run there. He was playing great up to that last set of downs, but that was just awful.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

...and right on cue, the commentators are busy making excuses for Ryan and calling it 'smart' to not take the hit. If he was't willing to, he never should have taken off for a run there! They'd be all too happy to point that out if it were someone like Romo in that spot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 149 ✭✭SimmerDean
