Would a new boiler be required, or can the mains supply be connected to the existing boiler?

Depending on what boiler it is of course. It has to be covnverted.

So depending on the make/model it could possibly be converted to work with the mains supply, rather than needing to be replaced entirely?

To be honest I've never switched LPG to mains before. Most boilers come Nat gas ready and you convert them to LPG if that's the gas supply. What boiler do you have and how old is it?

It's a boiler in a house that I'm bidding on so I don't have the model number here myself. I'll have to check with the agent tomorrow, he seems to think it can be connected to the mains, but sure he is going to say that anyway :)

    Yes.

If it's a standard efficiency boiler, it is a fairly simple job for a RGI, some replacement parts & a re-set up of the gas valve.
If high efficiency, also fairly straight forward but depending on the boiler, it may require a new gas valve.

Either way, the boiler shouldn't have to be replaced unless it is an "odd" boiler. If you can get the details of the boiler from the agent, we could be more specific. Also try & get the age of the boiler. It may well be of worth to replace it.
