I am replacing a tractor alternator but the new one has no socket for a 3pin plug. What do I do? It's a bosch 14V 33A

Why are you changing it with a different one to the one that was there already?

How many wires are on the connector that should plug into the alternator?
What are the markings on the new alternator? I assume the bosch one has bolt on connectors instead of spade? If so then cut the old spades and put on ring instead.Usually the larger wire will go to the output, such as B or B+ and the smaller one (ind) will go to the warning light, but the number of wires and markings can vary from different makes.

I would have stuck to a similar model that match the connector plug you have already though.

It is a replacement part, the original G1 alternator with the same plug is discontinued. I have a triangular male 3 pin plug on the brush holder on the old one, there is also a wire from the main output terminal. So I have 4 wires in total going to the old alternator, where do these go? Can I jig it up to the new alternator which is a K1? Anyone?

Probably need to see what markings are on the new one to try and figure out what is what.

On the external regulator socket there is D- ,D+and DF, On the new alternator with the built in regulator there is B+ and D+.
I have found on google that you join in some fashion the D+ to the D+ , and connect the big red wire comming from the pos+ side of batt to B+. You tidy up the D- and DF and they are not used.
I did this and everything seems to be working. :)The D+ was blue and operated the red warning light.
Many thanks. I could not get a replacement part same as the original (discontinued) so had to do with an IR alternator of same V and similar Amperage.

Good grief, why cant manufacturers put logical markings on them instead of that confusing nonsense.....

Is this where you saw it?
