Hyper 212 evo

Hi,

I am looking to get a push pull setup for the Hyper 212 evo. Which fans would you recommend? Would you recommend the push/pull at all with this cooler?

Also, did anyone have and trouble putting this fan in? The darn screw in he middle did not want to align on the heat sink....

Which cpu? For ivy bridge I don't think you'll gain much over stock Hyper 212 evo unless you de-lid the chip.

Look around for some of the bigger reviews where they compare lots of coolers on ivy bridge, you'll see that best coolers don't outperform the evo by more than a few degrees.

I using the 4670K, stock idle temps are around 25-27c. Got to 55 under load with prime95. I don't want to de-lid this CPU just yet (although Intel used some terrible thermal paste).

Would the push pull even make a difference? Would a good case fan be better?

Your temps are low. Push/pull has very little effect on those coolers. The rear exhaust is so close it makes the second fan pretty much useless. You would be better off improving your case airflow but your temps are already low.

Hmmm, that's a good point Bloodbath.

Tbh I wouldn't go putting expensive fans onto a budget case. Those Corsair fans aren't even all that good for the price. Something cheap and cheerful like these would do the job nicely or you could upgrade the case completely.

I bought 5 of those fans on Bloodbaths' recommendation and I can confirm that they're very good. Dead silent at 600 rpm and still reasonably quiet at 1000 rpm.

It depends on how much you want to spend

I do have a hard on for the Nanoxia cases at the moment. If Amazon sold the ds1 direct with free delivery I would have pulled the trigger already.
