Garda Vetting

Hi all,

I applied for a social care position back in February, the organisation and potential employer sent my vetting off on February 8th, however 10 months later my potential employer told me yesterday that it has not come back yet. Is this a common process? There is a full time waiting for me at the present time yet I can't take it without vetting. Can anyone offer suggestions please.

I was under the impression extra staff had been allocated to try and clear this. The wait was infamous. Short of Judicial Review I've no idea how you speed them up hopefully someone might have a more sensible way to proceed.

Yes I was also under the same impression, I have just been talking to someone else and they have been waiting a year. Rediculous

I rang the vetting unit during the week and they told me that the current wait is only 6 weeks. Ring them to make sure that your form hasn't been lost somewhere.
