    Hey,

Just wondering if anyone else here is going to Pink training in Belfast this weekend?

I only saw this now, sorry! Yeah, I was there. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone was so open with each other, laid-back and very very friendly. It really made me feel comfortable around everyone and reminded me that we all are actually human and not ~different~. I made so many new friends and really got to know some of my older friends a lot better :)

Did you enjoy it? Which was your favourite workshop?? :D

    Sexual Empowerment !!!!!!!!!!

    Give us more details ;-)

I really miss pt - went in 2002 and 2003 and helped organise it in 2004

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Sexual Empowerment was a workshop run by this LGBT councillor called Billie and she was just amazing, everyone said I had to go to that one and they were right.

The whole idea is that a healthy sex life is part of a healthy well being.

There were other ones I did on about Queer Identity, LGBT rights in Russia, Mental Heath etc. It was good though, we don't get anything like that in the UK PT is kinda unique so I was pleased to go, I mean there were 400 LGBTQA people there and well they are all in my age group so it was a lot of fun.

Oh and year since it was in Belfast there were nights out in the Kremlin and the SU plance in Queens.

400? it used to be about 20 or 30! we thought it was too big when it was 60

I wonder if I met you around :') I met a few of the TCD goers! :)

I LOVED Sexual Empowerment! It seriously was so empowering! :p It was great just to talk about things which would often be considered such taboo in a huge group and not feel judged or anything. It was great to hear others' stories and thoughts on all the different issues!

And Billie is so amazing :D She really made the talk!!

The other ones I went to were the Gay Rights in Russia (I think, it was Patrick Dempsey's one anyways, I can't remember what it was called!). Men's sexual health. Coming out workshop. Bi-Awareness. Bi Safe-space. Marriage Equality. Trans-rights ( I was planning on going to the Queer talk at the same time but I couldn't find the room :o ) and some others I think!

The speech at the dinner was amazing and so emotional as well. And it was lovely to get to know everyone about the place!

The nights were spectacular as well! :P

Good to see it's so popular, I have to admit the one time I did go (10 years ago :eek::eek:) I HATED it. I don't think it was anything to do with the organisation though, I was the only lesbian bunked in with a load of gay boys and none of the other girls would even talk to me! It was so weird. I have to admit I made my excuses and left before the Saturday festivities. I remember going to a brilliant coming out workshop though, it was awesome.

Ah Billie's sexual empowerment workshop. I organised that once, but not specifically for any particular group. You can pick up some great tips with the group participation ;)

Never been to PT, I've always wondered about the point.
