    Hi all,

My family recently changed telephone provider (eircom to IFA)

Anyway, when I enter my PPPoE details on the PS3 it fails to connect to the internet. Doing connection automatically results sometimes in Type 2 but more often than not Type 3.

Tried entering the old eircom details but to no avail either.

    Any help greatly appreciated :)

Thanks but we're with IFA now. So when I entered those in, it didn't obtain IP address etc

Yeh you'll need to use your new Username and Password. Everything else will be the same.

Those PPPoE details only apply to eircom accounts. Ring IFA's Support and ask them to Change the NAT on the router, or provide you with the details necessary to change it yourself.

Why do you think you need NAT1? NAT2 is what you strive for. The fact that NAT2 was problematic for you on eircom is more eircom's shiity router.

Hi , have been researching this recently myself . Not a gamer but was interested in changing the NAT type from 3 to 1 or 2 just in case somebody wanted it done ( I repair pcs ) . I'm with eircom , the old grey Netopia router . NGB 8mg connection . First time doing it I just entered the PPPOE settings on the PS3 . Entered broadband1 for the username , broadband1 for the password . Got NAT type 1 straight away . Only issues I found was that it had issues to connecting to Netflix after it so had to clear the username & password details in the PPPOE and use an automatic setting to get Netflix to work again . Not a solution maybe to your problem but it worked for me .
