Building up a Felt F1 frame

    Alright lads,

Just wondering how much it would cost to build up a Felt F1 frame to a decent spec. I already have Dura Ace C24 wheels, but that's about it. I'll have to buy everything else in and pay the Lbs to build it. I was thinking of Ultegra all round unless someone has a better idea they would like to put forward. As it's a BB30 would I be better off going with an FSA Chainset or something so I won't have to use an adapter? Also what bars, seatposts do u recommend? How much would all the cabling cost? I don't wanna spend over the top, but I still want quality all round. No point in ruining a great frame with parts not up to the job.

    Thanks in advance

Just to add to that, I was planning on buying a bike after Christmas for €2000 or €2200 at most. Probably an F4 or AR5. I then came across an F1 frame for €1200 and thought this may be a better option seeing as I won't need to buy new wheels.
C'mon all ye guys at work, u know u want to reply.

Get a cheap groupset off a german website as per furiousox's post.

Buy heavily discounted finishing kit from the big websites (CRC, wiggle, etc.) and second hand websites (here, adverts, donedeal). Make sure it all coordinates with the colour of your frame.

There's not much to it really, once it's all sized correctly. As the stuff comes in dribs and drabs in the post you could learn over time how to mount each part.

    Buy a torque wrench.

Do you have the frame already? If not, why a felt f1 specifically?

Where did you find the F1?

Might be compatibility issues with 11spd and the wheels.

Personally I'd try top find a lightly used DuraAce groupset - to me it just feels/looks a bit more special!

I've a felt Carbon seat post (27.2 from
An F5) and Felt SL saddle if your looking for OE components for your build...

Sram force would be nice.... Bars and stem and post go for 3t or FSA K FORCE. Nice.

U must be from Cork 'ya cute whore', trying to nick the frame from under my nose. It's advertised... And that's all I'll say about that.

To answer your question, I don't have it already, but a Felt F1 is pretty much as good as it gets.

As for 11 speed compatibility, my Dura Ace wheels are compatible. If I do end up with the AR5 instead, I'll be putting them up for sale. Only got them at end of July, less than 1000km on them. Sensible offers will be listened to.
