What are your TV requirements? [watching Soarview, Satellite, USB port for media, Console use, etc?]

What's the make and model of the camera? How do you normally view it? Is it a network camera or wired direct to a DVR?

Excellent. Right, Foscam is indeed a network IP camera. My app of choice is tinyCAM Monitor Pro on my android Tab. It actually allows monitoring up to 16 cameras simultaneously.

I have no experience of Smart TV's however, if a Smart TV has a web browser, you may be able to view it tat way. Alternatively, You can get something like the Minix Neo N5 [£65 Sterling] or Minix Neo N7 [£92 Sterling] or similar and connect it to your TV. These are android boxes that you can install tinyCam or similar to view your webcams on the TV.

As for actual TV's, you didn't say cheap, you said best value. Here are some that I like [but haven't tested in any way.]

42" Samsung LED @ £399 - Should do Soarview too

42" Samsung LED Smart with WIFI @ £499 - again, should do Saorview.

My preference would be to go for the first [non smart] and the Minix Neo N7. Same price [roughly] as the Smart TV but MUCH smarter.

These are just suggestions. There really are many great TV's out there for little money.

Right, I thought of another nice feature, which might be an absolute for you. I searched Amazon and came right back to the first suggestion [the non smart TV]. It also has a feature called Picture in Picture [or PIP]. This will allow you to watch your TV but keep your Minix N7 open in a small window in the corner. At least that's my understanding of how it works.

It's a marvellous feature which means you can keep a constant eye on your cattle while watching TV but isn't too intrusive.
