    Hey everyone,

I have been losing air from a Tyre recently and it has been diagnosed as a buckled alloy. Can anyone recommend a place to get it fixed in south Dublin? Also, what would I expect to pay? It is a size 18 if that makes a difference!

    Thanks in advance.

Not really but I just rang them and they said 90-120 euro to fix? I was thinking around 40-50 to be honest. Does this seem right? All I want is a small buckle repaired to stop the air escaping.

Can you see a visible buckle ? I bought tyres from Tyreland (2nd Hand Nearly New Tyres) and one kept leaking. They said that they could put some form of seal around the rim but I was OK so long as I kept the tyre up every two weeks or so.

I've now replaced all four tyres for brand new ones and there is no leak whatsoever so it sounds like the leaking one was maybe badly fitted or the tyre rim was damaged in some way when removing off the last wheel rim.

DId you maybe have a puncture repaired on that wheel whereby it had previously been removed off the rim ?

No I cannot see a visible buckle but I got the car serviced last Friday and they mentioned it. I knew that air was escaping and I thought it might be the alloy and this was confirmed at the service.

I got the tyre put onto the alloy about a year ago and this is the first bit of trouble I have had with it. I pump it up every two days but am losing about 6-8 psi in between. Guess I will have to pay it and get it sorted, I just thought it might be cheaper.

If you don't see any visible damage, then consider Bead Sealer / Bead Sealant or else consider having a tube fitted. An Advance / Fast Fit should be able to do these

I got a fairly bad buckle fixed on the missus car a couple of weeks back in Route 66 in Ballymount for €80.

I paid 300 or so about 6 years ago to have 4 17" laguna alloys straightened.
