Hi, I'm wondering about recording onto a blank DVD from my skybox.
Do I need a special type of dvd player?
I had a look at the recording dvd players in argos, about €300.

Do I need one of those types? Please & Thanks :-)

you do need a DVD recorder (how else would you record?) - they used to be cheaper but I guess people don't want them so much anymore as everyone has PVRs (Sky+ etc). Powercity don't have any listed on their website.

run a scart cable from the sky box into the DVD recorder, press play on the Sky box and record on the DVD.

its an annoying slow process TBH, as you can only record in real time (i.e. a 2 hour movie will take 2 hours to record) and you can't watch anything else on the Sky box in the meantime. I have a DVD recorder and haven't used it in over a year.

Thank you for that, that is what I though. But wanted to make sure. We have Sky+ too, but with all the good(ish) movies on between here and Christmas you see.......

    Thanks!
