Gas boiler flue

Hi guys, Is it possible to change a flue direction from horizontal to vertical on a gas boiler? I'm looking at a small extension and changing the orientation of the flue would save me having to move the boiler and plumbing etc. the boiler is an ideal mini. Thanks, nb
