UK Car mileage check

    Done a mileage check on a car im thinking of buying the owner says the mileage is genuine and hes giving a guarantee and says the service and mot should prove it, but when i checked it online i got this back....(hes saying theres 76k)

    I'd believe the datacheck.

    Ask the owner for it's service book plus supporting receipts - I doubt he'll be able to supply them.

    Turn around and walk. As said above plenty of genuine cars out there.

    As said look for the service book and receipts, then ring the garages that did the service work to verify what they did. If you get a BS excuse that they are missing or not available then that will confirm there is something not right. It is very unusual that a UK car would have missing or no documented service history.
