Sounds like the car is going into limp mode.

If it is scanned with a half decent scan tool it should tell you the reason for the limp mode.

The most common fault codes leading to limp mode are as follows:

    http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16683/P0299/000665

    http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16618/P0234/000564

Until you know which fault code you have you are just shooting in the dark and hoping for the best.

By the way, I know this is the DIY forum which is why I tried to answer your question but this could be a situation where you would be better off taking the car to someone who knows their stuff and paying them for an hour of their time to diagnose the issue. Anybody who is familiar with these cars and works on them regularly should be able to diagnose the majority of limp mode cases within an hour comfortably.

You have already wasted more money on parts that aren't needed than it would have cost to do this in the first place.

Who is doing the actual diagnosis of the problem? You or the garage?
