hey guys, roughly how long do they hold onto the cars or do they sell once they hit a certain mileage. Also what is the usual sales channel, into the trade or via auction? Thanks! Interested in the F10's...

Isn't it usually 3 years then auction?

I think the best if this stuff usually gets released into trade only auctions so the general public don't get the chance to buy it

They're releasing stuff to the main dealers every week, look at the amount of 3 month old cars on the uk official dealer lists bmw.co.uk.

Yep. A friend in the UK goes often but even he says the best of the best are even limited to some traders (gold/platinum account holders??)

it totally depends on the car, some are cheaper here, some are roughly similar and some are cheaper... Some are just rare as hens teeth here, so you may have to go to the UK if you are being very specific... Are you referring to a specific model?

Any dealer with a decent relationship with rental companies will be able to source a nearly new car from the UK fleet for you. If you're on good terms with a dealer, ask them.

10k will be getting you an E60 535d, probably a 2006. Better off buying one over here as because of the high tax on them they are better value. Finding a well cared for one could be a different story though.

You do realise rentals make up a significant proportion of all nearly new cars on the market? Do you think they just drive them around a track in Munich until there's 20k on the clock? They're also better maintained mechanically than your average car for negligence and liability reasons.

I am selling an e60 535d shortly, 2006 pre LCI and was expecting to ask 10.5-11k for it with FSH and just serviced and NCT'd.

You will in no way get an f10 for that money however!
