Hi, after too many years not exercising I recently started running and it's going well. Now I'd like introduce a little weight training at home and want to try kettlebells. The goal is not to bulk up as such, just increase strength and fitness and tone up a bit.
I imagine when fit I had average strength for a guy (if it's possible to gauge that), I was never a big gym goer.
So can anyone give me some starter tips about what to buy? Should I get two of the same weight? I was thinking to get a 12 kg and a 16 kg. Does that make sense?
I've also seen a good offer at Elverys on the J.W. Elvery range, do these look good?

    Thanks a lot!

Two diffetent weights is a good idea but 12kg and 16kg are way too light for an average guy imo.
16kg and 20kg or even 16kg and 24kg if you were to space them out a bit more.

The difficulty with buying weights is that you may well need the 12kg while learning some moves (snatches, getup, windmill etc) but will very soon outgrow it and need 16, 20 maybe even 24.

Thanks folks. That's what I was thinking Oryx. I'm starting from zero so don't want to break something. Guess I'll start there and add a heavier one later.

I actually got two twelves so I could double up, but that tends not to happen! But something you could consider. Otherwise I can sell you a 12 but having to collect would take the good out of it :)

I'm sure it's a mansion. It was a kind offer anyway, thanks
