I'd have to say Jesse Ventura. I met him at his book signing in New York a few weeks ago......

It was the greatest honor and day of my life!

Despite the fact he endorses a killing spree all over the Middle East and drone affairs in Pakistan?

Sounds like a tosser to me.

Are people confusing 'met' with 'saw'? Beginning to wonder...

Was in Eamonn Dorans years ago, the Fun Lovin Criminals were doing a set. Yours truly was very drunk. Spotted Huey - asked "are you Huuuuuueeeey....." and hueyed all over his shoes before passing out. He wasn't impressed.

A couple of famous types here and there, but for me the biggie was one of the guys who walked on the moon.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I met Paul McGrath when I was a kid during USA '94 World Cup, I was too young to appreciate who he was beyond 'Ooh, ah, Paul McGrath!' But my mam thought she was great with her handy cam and interviewed (grilled) him for about half an hour. I was old enough to be morto!

Joe Elliott lives down the road from where I used to live, so bumped into him a lot. Very... Tall.

Spent an hour in a car with Howard Marks and Peter Hook around 3 years ago. Surreal.

I've met quite a few famous people over ther years but I always put it that they had the honour of meeting me. :)

The Queen of England probably the most famous, but Nelson Mandella was the person I'm most proud to have shook hands with.

Hes done a great job in my opinion
As for the drones in pakistan the terrorists deserve to die for their crimes against america and its better to send in drones to do the job rather than risk american troops lives

And yes I did actually meet him while he was visiting ireland

I Paul McGrath in the Berkeley Hotel years ago after an international. Lovely fella. He signed my ticket.
Met liam neeson in the lobby of the gresham. Terrible nice chap too.
And I once met brendan gleeson in the corner of a quiet pub in ballyvaughan. Again a decent skin.
I always feel a bit guilty bothering them. I wonder do they ever just want to be left alone.

I met mother teresa when she was in DCU. Part of me wants to say that I wish I had've given her a bollocking but I'll be honest, I was young, a bit awe struck, I knew nothing about the dodgyness and even if I had, she was a tiny frail old woman.

I did think it was weird the way she kept waffling on about abortion and contraception and never mentioned the poor.

I've 'met' lots but if you mean sitting down, having banter and getting to know someone, I've been on the p1ss with Liam Gallagher.

    Haven't necessarily 'met' anybody famous.

I patted Matt LeTissier on the back after Southampton played in Waterford in the 90s. I made eye contact and nodded at Ryan Tubridy in a shop a few years ago (got a hello back).

I used to bump into a good few Munster players when I lived in Limerick. Myself and a friend slagged off some girl from a distance for her terrible parking, later realising it was Ronan O'Gara's girlfriend, whom was queuing in the shop with Paul O'Connell and Jerry Flannery.

Alan Davies, trying to have a quiet dinner before a gig
Beaudin Barrett - All Black 3rd no10, in the stadium bar after the Hurricanes got trashed recently; Me and the wife were hammered and he really looked like he wanted to get away
Several Irish players including Sexton in Starbucks when they were here for the rugby world cup. They all autographed a jersey too :)

Jack Charlton in a hotel in Waterford. Just for a minute and I was quite young. An absolute gent.

The golfer Jason Dufner in Kilarney. Seemed nice.

Peter Stringer in a challenge match years ago. He knew it was all beneath him but wasn't full of himself or or anything.

    That's it really
