i hear the heritage is for sale for €2million!!

All joking aside, you won't go too far wrong with any of the courses in the midlands from Athlone to Moate, Mount Temple, Esker Hills, Tullamore, Castle Barna etc.

Can you give a more specific location or would he be willing to travel? Also remember - golf is no fun on your own so you much have to go for a two ball voucher.

    Mullingar.

It's shortish but it's always enjoyable to play. Great greens too.

never played New Forest so I can't comment on it but the order of the others seems a bit off?

Moate is a bit of a boggy course with no real redeeming features.
Glasson, while it has nice scenery and a nice hotel has poorly kept greens and fairways.
Esker Hills is a great track but tough to get round unless you hire a buggy!
Athlone is a tough course but the greens have been very well kept and it has some nice holes.
Mullingar is a good course alright but wouldnt rank it higher than Athlone or Esker Hills.

    My order would be
    Esker Hills
    Athlone
    Mullingar
    Glasson
    Moate

Moate is in great condition considering the amount of rain that falls in the midlands region and to say it has no redeeeming features is a bit harsh to say the least.

I've played the 5 courses and obviously it's well advertised by me that I'm a member in Moate but I genuinely think they ALL have redeeming features.

I've played all 5, was a member of 2 and I wouldn't knock any of them either.

Glasson has come on a bit in the last 12 months though compared to what it was last year.
