Transporting to cars from Leicester to Dublin?

I know this topic has been up before but I've rang everyone listed on the other threads with no luck with getting a quote below €900 for getting a non running car and a bare shell over to Ireland from Leicester.

John Flynn who has been recommended lots before says he isnt sending lorries over anymore and everywhere else I'm getting quotes of €900 and above to get them over.

Anyone going over with spaces on a truck for me?

Anyone willing to do the job for less?

I've gotten some good quotes getting the cars to Holyhead but the Ferry over is the problem.

Anyone got any ideas for me??

    Thanks

Have you tried Val (McKenna?) 087 2996127

Yeah, he said I can try book a place on his lorry Thursday but I'm worried if that doesn't work out so I'm looking around for alternatives in the mean time.

I replied to your pm btw.

what are you worried about? if Val says you can book a space on his truck, book one and he'll do the job.

You want to move a non-runner and a shell, ie two cars ? To be honest, 900 euro for two doesn't sound that bad. NVD are charging 425+vat per car at the minute, for running cars. Non-runners are a lot more hassle. Rates have gone up recently with most transport companies. I'm budgeting 400 euro per car for all imports from that part of UK. London area is costing more.

I'm told that NVD are doing pickups in the midlands only now. They are not quoting for going any further than the M25.

There was a guy near Creggs in Roscommon (NOT McNamaras) bringing non-runners but I don't have a number for him, maybe someone else can help.

Given that a lot of transporters tend to be long in the tooth, it's not cheap to go inside the M25 and get whacked for a LEZ (low emissions zone) charge, which IIRC is 200 STG a day.

Agreed they wouldn't want to go into the congestion zone, but they are not going round the M25 either. Won't go east of M11, nor south of M4. Rules out several of the BCA sites, including Blackbushe. Rules out the big Mannheim site in Colchester (?) also.
