A good friend of mine buy's from them throughout the year, he's happy and they normally have good customer service too

Also, try to keep the order under the €20 something euros Customs limit for non EU orders if possible ;)

    Hope this helps :)

The limit is €22 but in actual fact is a little higher as VAT below €6 will not be collected. Eg €28 x 0.21 = €5.88 so no VAT collected so you escape the charges.

Just be aware that shipping costs are included when working out the value of an item.

There is a good guide here:
    http://www.revenue.ie/en/customs/leaflets/postal-guide.pdf

Part 11 talks about the valuation and charges. Don't forget An Post takes another €6 if you do get hit.

Although I wish this was the case, they have collected of me on more than one occasion when the amount including shipping has been as little as €25:(.

Myself and a good friend had ordered batteries from Hobbying, my order came to €26.46 and escaped duty:). My friends order however did not, his total was €26.73!! We both got letters asking for Paypal receipts, I was lucky but my mate wasn't. And only 27cents in the difference.

I'll have to be a bit more wary in future so. I've gotten away with it so far but was always half expecting to get charged so i'll keep it low. Although i did have An Post try to collect the charge twice on a parcel - think the driver was trying to pull a fast one!
