Chip and crack.

Hey, noticed yesterday, a small about 3mm chip in my windshield just behind wiper, and about 1.5cm wide crack running from that chip. I assume eventually the line will extend and get worse?

    Here is pic: http://i.imgur.com/1d6I1Io.jpg

How much would it cost to fix? (before I need to replace the whole thing)

    Thanks.

It will extend, more than likely.

Take a look into your insurance policy - maybe you have a windscreen replacement thing as well. ;)

I do, but I thought that only applies when windscreen is smashed?

Of course it may vary from insurer alright, but I changed windscreen twice (so far), had only small cracks.

    Ring your insurer tomorrow. :)

    Does the premium go up?

    Laminated windscreens don't smash

If you have windscreen cover on your policy then it should not effect your NCB or premium. Have a read of your policy documents or ring your insurance company, they probably have a preferred windscreen company that they have an agreement with.

€50 with autoglass if the chip is smaller then €2 coin.
