well you need to say where you are, the make of receiver, size of dish, channel you are measuring, the satellite you are on.

And you only need to improve things if signal is lost, during rain. and the figure you quoted is perfect.

As rightly said unless its giving you problems you shouldnt need to, you will never get 100% signal...factors such as weather and dish size as well as the type of cable you use will determine the end signal....

however some decoders will never show the proper signal levels anyway.

These figures should give you perfect reception. You may lose reception in snow or hail and even that would be rare.

Did you skew the LNB by turning it to about the six o' clock position for proper polarisation? That may increase by up to eight percent depending on which satellite and transponder you are checking the signal from.

A Sky lnb has numbered skew presets: I think no. 2 is the correct one for southern Ireland.

For non-Sky lnbs, I would take a look at this site. Enter your address & the section under the map titled 'Dish Setup Data' will show you the amount of lnb skew in degrees & the direction to turn, when viewed from behind the dish. For Tramore, 16.7 degrees anticlockwise from vertical is recommended. It will always be anticlockwise for linearly polarised signals coming from the east.

Should point out that the map on this site is useful for initial rough setting of the dish, provided there is high res. image of your location, allowing you to pick out a landmark to align on.

Unless you have specific issues, your signal should be quite good with those figures. Remember some channels will look poor on bigger TVs or close up - that's down to the broadcaster themselves saving a few quid on bandwidth.
