So following on from the last Cork meet-up, would anyone be interested in another one in a few weeks? How about either 29/30 November or 06/07 December? There's a poll up so if you'd be interested in coming along, just vote for the days you can make it!

Would definitely be interested but it'll depend on whether I can find someone in Cork who'll let me crash at theirs for the night....unless you inexplicably feel like relocating the meetup to Mallow instead? :pac:

So seems to be a fairly even tie between the 6th and 7th December, anyone got any ideas on location?

I'm debating whether to go to this. I only came out a couple of weeks ago, but I'm feeling confident enough to talk to some people from the community. How did the last one go?

Hi VilgioConfido the last one went well and hopefully the next one will too. I'd definitely recommend coming along, especially if you're looking to get to know some other gay people in Cork! :)

Cool. I will hopefully be able to make it. I moved to Cork about six months ago, but I may have difficulty finding the location. Also as this is all new to me, I may be extremely nervous, but I find myself saying "screw it" to pessimism a lot, so we'll see how it goes.

That's the right attitude to have towards pessimism :-) and no need to be nervous, it'll probably be a small enough group so don't worry :-) Not sure where the location's going to be yet, maybe other people here might have a good idea about where we could go, but it shouldn't be too hard to find, if it's somewhere you don't know, I can always meet you beforehand anyway to make sure you find it!

If you like your craft beers the Hub on Anglesea St is a good spot, only been there mid-week when it's been quite enough so not sure how busy it is at the weekend.

For Cork newbies, and gaybies, it may be best to pick a more central blend into the background type of spot.

Old Oak or somewhere central like that.

So at this stage it looks like most votes are for Saturday 7th December so could probably mark the meet-up down for that date.

Any more ideas on location, so far the Old Oak and the Hub have been suggested, anyone agree/disagree or got another suggestion?

Was in El Fenix (one of Benny McCabe's stable) at the weekend, nice spot with a bit of a Spanish vibe going on. As for the Old Oak, I'll just leave this link to an article in de Paper here & walk away!

I don't even need to open the link to know what you're on about, but the content of Facebook campaigns and articles was totally debunked.

Unfortunately I've had a better offer (one which refusal would offend) to celebrate a very good friend's recent family addition on the 7th. And given that she's cute as a button I don't need to be asked twice.

Never been to El Fenix myself, but if you think it's a good place, could definitely go there!

Ok, so the date chosen is this Saturday night and the venue is more than likely El Fenix. Hope to see as many as possible there! If you're planning on coming along, could you just let me know (either on this thread or by PM) so that we've an idea of numbers and we can see if we need a bigger venue/reserve a table? Thanks!

I was supposed to be in Cork for a rugby match, but work has called and told me I have to work all day Saturday. Hope you guys/gals have a great night!

Family plans have cropped up. So won't be able to make it again. :(
Sorry for being a big flake! Hope you get a good crowd though and have a good night.

So, what's the story with this. Is it still going ahead? Also if it is what time?

    Did this go ahead?

hey, no it didn't go ahead unfortunately, a good few people dropped out at the last minute , it probably wasn't the best time to organize one so close the Christmas. If someone has any suggestions for the New Year, feel free to voice them :-)
