With the announcement that BT sports has champions league and europa league from 2015,
And the schd sky seem to have lately, I don't think I've watched a single Saturday night game, .
For me I find sky have very few games I'm interested in eg Norwich v west ham,
Also la liga are starting to play games earlier and earlier for TV coverage. . so I'm not in to watch

    I comment

Sky looks like they are going to see the start of a mass exitdus of customers,

Not that they will sign up to BT sports, I don't like the presentation, but won't pay 2 or 3 sub's and still can't watch every single game.

Where are BT going to fund this from

I think BT has ruined prem league footy coverage on sky this year. . .

And vice versa. The real losers here though are Scottish football supporters who (defo in my case) never watch English football but still get stung full price for over-rated EPL pox

I know people may think its good for competition, but I'd sooner give sky an extra tenner than sign up for setanta or BT sports.

I'm correct that these are the packs

    Sky sports

    Setanta

    BT sports/ESPN

    In Ireland

    - Sky Sports
    - Setanta Sports (incl BT Sport 1/2 & ESPN) - http://www.setanta.com/ie/subscribe

Setanta & BT/Espn are all the one package here,BT bought up ESPN UK earlier in the year.5 channels in all. They are charging €19.99 a month but as usual, deals are available.I haven't paid full price for it in a long time.

There's already a very similar thread open in the broadcasting forum, wonder if a mod could merge them?

some folk would say $ky have ruined prem league footy in England.

Its an open market after all, all goes to the highest bidder, and I won't shed a tear if $ky's customers flee in their thousands. They had it their own way for a long time.

It will all go bang someday, people are simply being fleeced to watch football in the UK, and hopefully some day they will wise up.

It's such a pity that RTE or TV3 don't bid to show an additional saturday 3pm game in Ireland in addition to Setantas.

Would never happen. Premier League are only allowing one 3pm game per country in Europe

Only one 3pm Saturday game is available in the Irish package, this has always been the case.

Even if more were available the quality of the games left after first choice wouldn't really encourage a bidding war!

Its too expensive too fork out for all the Sky Sports channels and the Setanta/Bt pack.

Sky and Setanta should work out a deal that if you subscribe to both you get a discount. I know it will never happen but it would mean more subscribers.

Any Scottish football fan is being taken to the cleaners half the Scottish Premier League games are on Bt and the other half on Sky. And the Scottish league isnt exciting to watch at the moment with the absence of Rangers.

I predict Al Jazeera will start bidding for the Barclays Premier League rights in the future and dont forget they have Richard Keys and Andy Gray currently presenting their Premier league games.

That would mean I would NEVER, EVER get Al Jazeera so!

We have plenty of discussion going on about this over in Broadcasting so I think we can continue the discussion there.
