Peugeot 307 1.4 Oil in coolant bottle after head gasket replacement

My girlfriends Peugeot 307 (2006) has a few issues after a head gasket replacement. She got it serviced for an external oil leak by a non main dealer who said they did a head gasket replacement.

There is no sign of the oil leak now but there are signs of oil in the coolant bottle. The coolant was also very low. There also seems to be an uneven idle.

There doesn't appear to be any mayonnaise on the oil cap and there seems to be plenty of oil.

Could this be some oil in the coolant from the work on the head or a sign that it wasn't done correctly?

Its a sign it wasn't done correctly.

Replacing head gasket requires draining a little coolant out and it needs to be topped up afterwards. Oil and coolant shouldn't mix when they do its usually down to head gasket or cracked head. Head should have been skimmed and torqued down to avoid warping.

Im gussing either the headgasket is damaged or there is a problem with head.

Dont keep driving it bring it back to the garage.

Unfortunately this was only noticed several weeks after the repairs. I'll give the guy a ring and see what he says.:(
