JSA question?

I'm currently on JSA and have been offered a temp part time Christmas contract which will start next week, I found out that its monthly paid and I won't get paid until the 25th of November. First week will only be 20 hours with potential for more as the weeks go by but only 20 hours guaranteed.

What happens to my JSA in the mean time will it be cut off straight away or can I claim until the week I'm paid or close to it, I mean will I be allowed to claim.

I can't go the bulk of 3 weeks with no money what so ever I will need to commute to work not to mention eat and live. Plus I need to buy clothes for my uniform which the company will have the official one for me in 2 weeks.

How many days are the 20 hours over? If it's 3 days or less you can apply to go casual. If over 4 or more then your JA will have to stop immediately as you are considered to be working full time. You can go to the CWO for an interim payment once you can prove that you won't be paid until 25th November.

The first week is over 3 days 2 8 hour training days and a 4 hour shift to make up the 20 for the first week, then I don't know maybe 4, 5 hour shifts or 5, 4 hour shifts.

You can go casual for the first week but after that then you would have to come off JA. If you are over 12 months on claim you could apply for the Part Time Job Incentive but you would have to work 24 hours or less per week.
