Thermodynamic hypothesis vs hormone hypothesis

    An article in the Irish Times says that Gary Taubes is going to test his hormone hypothesis on 16 individuals over the next few months.

    I'm guessing, as the author of the article puts it, the results may not necessarily show one hypothesis is right and the other wrong. Rather, which one is "truer".
