Went to log onto the CI website and for the life of me I can't remember my log-in details so I went through the 'forgot password' routine whereon I got the message to say an e-mail has been sent.. bla-de-bla-de-bla... But, no such e-mail has arrived. Any ideas?

    Spam folders all checked BTW.

i just requested my username, and havent received it. sounds like the same issue as you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,547 ✭✭✭funkyjebus

I logged in yesterday and today it won't accept any of my details. It says that the email address I entered is not on their system when I try an retrieve.

It looks like it will be next year before I can join a club. Nothing is simple with CI.

its certainly not confidence inspiring. does anyone know anything about Azolve (the website provider - i know they are scottish but thats about it).

  • Administrators, Social & Fun Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 78,393 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭Beasty

Are you using the new website? Yesterday I could log onto the old one but not the new one - it would not recognise my username (which is my e-mail address)

I therefore asked for a password reset on the new website (using my e-mail address as username), followed the link and was able to log on fine (and still can today), using my e-mail address username

At the AGM I think it was mentioned that Scottish Cycling use them

Same here with the username request. Message said email was sent but nothing in the inbox.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,185 ✭✭✭nilhg

I had to do a password reset yesterday, it took 10-15 minutes for the email to arrive but it was fine after that, no problems logging in there just now.

That's how your are supposed to get access to the new site - I was talking to CI last night on Twitter.

Unfortunately the email address I registered with originally is defunct so I can't get a new password. I'm locked out until they can resolve it.

I've been trying to renew my membership for most of the morning. I work in IT, so consider myself fairly computer literate, and can't for the life of me work out what's going wrong.

Mistakenly I tried to use my old details to log in, before realising "first time access" referred to "first time on the new site", rather than "first time logging into CI". Requested username, nothing. Requested password, nothing. Tried each a few more times. About 90mins later I got a batch of emails. Lesson learned: don't log in with your old details.

Great, logged in, checked my licence details, clicked okay. Was approved by the club, and I got an email inviting me to pay for it - with no link. When I click checkout, it presents me with "Below is a list of outstanding payments", but with nothing in the list. So I can't actually start any payment process.

If you're having issues, I suggest emailing your club membership secretary, and letting them know. They can collate them and send them on to CI then. Right now I'm not being filled with confidence though.

If you're with Orwell, we'll detail the process soon for CI and club membership so that you're (hopefully) not caught out with the common pitfalls.

It's not a Scottish company, is it?! Is Irish money going abroad!? TO THE BRITS* OF ALL PEOPLE!?

Scotland is part of Great Britain right? Are Scots therefore Brits, or Great Brits?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,460 ✭✭✭lennymc

yes, they are a scottish company. It was asked why the work went to a scottish company at the AGM. It was also asked was anybody on the board in anyway related to anyone in Azolve.

Ah well, that post fell flat on its face.

I see we have a new discipline for 2014: commuter racing has finally been recognised! http://cyclingireland.bluecubes.com/page/disciplines/commuters

Also, can anyone find the rankings?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,547 ✭✭✭funkyjebus

Just rang them there. I have been using the correct email address, but for some reason my email didn't move across to the new system so they have to ask the developer to rectify. Great now I won't get this sorted before the weekend.

    Re-assuring reading this thread.

No activation linkie was sent on to me for the first 5 times I clicked it at varying intervals.
Not too long ago one arrived but I could not remember my password so requested another linkie for that.

Now I am registered, but it's awaiting approval before I've to login again to process payment.

You'd want to be dedicated to run through all that to hand over monies to Cycling Ireland to only cycle at Sportives in 2014 :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,099 ✭✭✭morana

I had no issues, no comfort to those who did I know

I used my email and it sent a temp password and activation link...thats it. I wont renew for a while anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,238 ✭✭✭Junior

Went to the new site yesterday, reset my account details as I was too stupid to remember my username was my email address, I then promptly found out I didn't use my standard password format, reset that, no problems straight away.

So this eventually appeared - they must be having issues with the volume of applications, because it seems every step has 1hr+ delay, from my experience anyway.

The Act of Union 1709 was a Scottish construct I think. So the English joined them supposedly and not the other way round. That's what they say anyway

Wasn't going to comment but seeing as there are a few posts having a go at CI I'll just say that I went on the site last night followed the instructions and was on and registered in no time, all super smooth. So not all bad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 523 ✭✭✭Mugser

Went out for a quick 50k and when I got back the inbox was full:) Just used the most recent one, sorted now. Thanks for the replies, good to know I wasn't the only one having issues.

How do I change from limited competition to open racing? It's all greyed out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,460 ✭✭✭lennymc

Get in touch with the membership secretary, email at http://www.orwellwheelers.org/news-and-events/555-ci-membership.html

That page also contains a walkthrough for CI, and if you're joining Orwell, the link to our sign-up page.

All paid up, now just have to wait for the license number I guess.

And this is the same supplier/system that was going to be used for the on line mandatory pre entry that they were proposing to ''sneak in'' under the radar.Glad we got that one kicked in to touch at least for 2014.The race would be over before you got entered for it.Suppose its a bit early but i would be a little bit apprehensive about it.My I T ability is limited, but anything this assolve crowd have come up with so far,is not user friendly to someone like me.Did the whole calender thing with this and it wasn't a pleasurable experience.

I'd be curious to know when you did it. Seems people who applied last night had no issues, those doing it today had a myriad.

I'm in the same boat, I emailed them, they emailed me back saying my email address has been changed but I can't get in. I'll email back and see what happens. To be fair the defunct email address isn't there fault and I should have remembered my bloody password.

haha! That or impatience. Everything worked... eventually.

Unless you're looking for an U10 licence, that doesn't work.

Still waiting on an approval email from CI, what on earth could they have to "approve"- all I've submitted is name and address.

I think it's your club who have to approve it (confirm you are a member in good standing)

If its a renewal it's not an issue but if a new registration they would surely need to check details. If all new ones were approved straight off it would become a mecca for spammers etc...
