I've used Parcel Motel close to 100 times since they opened and never had an issue.

I order some stuff from ebay / amazon about 10 days ago.

I received 5 out of the 6 items.

I contacted the seller to ask if they had sent the items and they said yes.. and also was able to give me a tracking number and I could see the date / time it was signed for in Parcel motel up the North.. and also who signed for it and a scan of there signature.

I contact Parcel Motel and they said they had nothing there for me.. ( I've sent them all this info and awaiting a reply)

Has this happened to anyone before ? ( Item received by by PC but not delivered.. maybe lost )

    What was the outcome ?

It happened me. Was waiting on an item for a week. I had assumed it just wasn't dispatched but when I checked with the vendor I got the trccking with a delivery date, time and signature.

I contacted PM and had to send them the delivery info as well as a description of the items. They then did a search of the facility but wasn't found. Took a bit of chasing them up to get any info. Eventually they said it couldn't be found and asked me to forward the order email etc. Was only worth €20 or so. Was given the option of credit on my a/c or to wait 2-3 weeks for a check. since I used them a lot I took the credit

Similar thing happened to me. They 'searched the warehouse' but couldn't find it. I took the credit they offered on to my account. The only issue I've had with them and I've ordered nearly 30 parcels.

Have to say my experience with PM was very disappointing. Ordered a few craft beers from top class Scottish brewer BrewDog. Was worried it was taking so long, turns out PM had the parcel for 10 days. When I contacted them they said they found the package and would deliver it. Then they said it was oversized Id have to collect it from the depot in Finglas.

Then finally they decided since it contained alcohol they'd have to dispose of it! In the end I paid to have it delivered to my address.

The end result was that my order cost more and took longer than it would have taken to order direct.

PM is a nice idea but unfortunately it's an extra point of failure in the supplier chain in terms of extra pick up points, extra rules, restrictions and small print. Hadn't realised they didn't handle alcohol (puritans!?) and not knowing what size package the original supplier will use could be a problem.

Probably works fine for small packages but Im out.

The reason for not allowing alcohol (and tobacco) in parcels is not because they are puritans :) but because excise duty is payable on all imported alcohol and tobacco even if it is bought from within the EU.
