PVC Window wont lock

I have a little problem that someone here might be able to help with, I have a PVC window that I cant shut because the handle just keeps on going around and round without doing anything

I took the locking mechanism apart to find that the square Hole that the bar from the handle should be going into ( same idea as a door handle) has been rounded off, its made of soft alloy and the handle must have been forced too hard too many times,

Its just a small circular piece with 2 lugs that push the locking mechanism into place, does anybody know of a place in Munster or online that I might pick this part up,

It’s a shame really because these windows are less than 2 years old,

Thanks for any help you may give with this.

You will probably need to contact the manufacturer of the windows. I had the same problem with my front door.

Try this crowd, if you have detailed pictures they may be able to point you in the right direction if they dont have the part themselves.

First stop for me would be the manufacturer - if they are still in business. If they are nice they will replace for free as the windows are only two years old; if you have to pay at least you will get a fitting suitable for your window. Otherwise take a picture and post it here - somebody may be able to point you to a supplier.

Soz's about the delay in getting back to thank you both for the advise,

I had an old window in my yard that I found buried under a mountain of gear that protected the workings on the window,

on the off chance I took out the locking mechanism and offered it up to the damaged one.. to my surprise it fitted perfectly,

I had a look on the link you gave me and found they stock a lot of gear that will come in handy in the future as I do a lot of maintenance work for people,

many thanks to you's for taking the time to help,
