Cheap Golf Membership at Enniscorthy

Heard there's a bit of a price war raging in the South East Region between clubs since the sad news broke about St. Helen's Bay with Enniscorthy now offering membership for 2014 at €600 if the applicant signs up between now and December 16th.

This follows on the heals of Wexford, Bunclody and Seafield offering similar deals...who'll be next? Some clubs in the region still have 'hand-shake' money.

It seems to be the case of 'how low can YOU go!' On the bright side - becoming a member of a club has never been cheaper.

Pity it's not a viable option for membership given commuting distance and the same pricing policy isn't applied to the Dublin region.

I agree; it seems that there are two Ireland's - Dublin and the rest of the Country. Therefore two pricing schemes. No work outside of Dublin so prices reflect this.

I think there is plenty of value in Dublin, there's a diverse range of offers out there to suite everyone, you may have to travel a bit but you may have to do this in the rest of the country too if you're home course is expensive.

You may not be getting as much value, in that you probably will get a better course for the same price outside of Dublin.

I currently pay 750 for a full membership in Dublin, Grange Castle. If I moved home I think the membership for Castlebar is the same price. Castlebar would be a better course but the difference in quality isn't great enough for me to really have any issue.

Sure, there are the courses that are in the position to command high joining fees etc in Dublin and they get the headlines, but as a golfer in Dublin looking for something that won't break the bank, I've got enough options. They aren't all looking for 5k, 10k etc.

There is a premium in Dublin, but it aint all bad.
