Where's the consumer issue, unless we've moved to the UK? It's been done to death in After Hours, where it rightly belongs. :)

    targeted advertising?

like you get all over the interweb?
like tesco already do based on the information from your purchases?

    So are you irate yet?
I welcome it. Sure this is nothing new, the people giving out samples in supermarkets would target some people more than others.

So if a minibus carrying a football team of young men pulled up one morning on the way to a match, the players queuing up to pay for their bottles of energy drinks might end up viewing adverts for the latest lads mag and a store’s breakfast roll offering.
Jaysus, the poor fellas will be left devastated if they saw ads for something they might have an interest in.

They wouldn't be permitted to store any information, so I don't see the need to be irate. As said above, it's no more shocking than showing fitness ads on the fitness forum, or ads targetted at men during the ad breaks in sports.

Its no different to the security cameras already recording your face at the checkout.

the customer's wearing a full bur q a at the time ha ha!

    (there's an idea ;)).

will be a roaring success when implemented in Ireland, we so value our privacy here..

If you are stupid enough to shop in tesco then you deserve to have your face scanned.

Next advance will be TEsco's trying to scan your backside ha ha

What's the big deal? Why be irate? It's just targeted advertising with no data retained. The internet does it with your brousing history every day. Should we be iratevat Google too?
    And it's UK only.
    What is the consumer issue?

Enough - this isn't a Consumer Issue and a duplicate of threads in After Hours
