go to any electrical wholesalers or a structured cabling companies and you will get some there .
also ask at any of the large esb sub-stations or down at esb poolbeg . also worth it to ask the eircom , kn networking and upc lads working on installing fibre optic cable along roof tops the sides of motorways and roadsided

i got a large 5 foot diameter wooden cable drum from eircom when they were installing the fibre optic cable and multicore cables underground out near ebay a few months ago . they gladly gave me the empty drum . they had a much bigger 7 foot diameter drum but it was a tad too large for my needs .

@dubsuperstar can you still get these? If so what size are they? Need one to make the kids a gymnastics mushroom.

Hi, rather than starting a new thread I thought I'd join this one.....
I am also looking to buy wooden cable spools, I live in Letterkenny, Donegal. Does anyone know any place local-ish where I could get them, any suggestions appreciated, thanks

Try a local co op or an electrical wholesalers in your area.

Save me making a new thread, I'm looking for a small one for a play, about 2 foot in diameter would be perfect.

If it could be delivered to Dublin City Centre, that would be amazing.
