VRT rate - enquire to Revenue?

    Hope someone can help.

I am considering importing a car from Austria of which there are only about
5 ever made. They are classed as commercial vehicle N1 on the vehicle documents. It is a crew cab jeep and is classified as above. Can I take it that the VRT will charge me the commercial rate?

Is there a contact in Rosslare that I can make an inquiry of how much it will cost me to bring in the vehicle? No point getting a shock when I turn up at NCT center to pay VRT!!

The vehicle can not be found using the VRT calculator.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Afaik Revenue no longer take enquires from the General Public around VRT. It will have to come from the NCT and to my knowledge the NCT will need to see the vehicle in front of them before referring to Revenue for a VRT figure once the VIN is not on their system.

Best thing to do though is ring your local NCT centre for clarity in the event I have it wrong.

Yes, and be warned, Crew Cabs are a special category and you will need to show you are a business that needs to carry more than 2 passengers.(or tax it Private)
