Sony Trinitron Problem

Hi. This is a long shot but maybe someone can help.

I just moved into a property with an old Sony Trinitron KV-32WF1U. I'm not able to remove the AV info from the screen. Pressing the 'On-Screen Display' button only removes some of the text. The channel/input number will not disappear.

I can't get exact information on this particular model online, but I've come across a good bit of info on the various Trinitron models, and in all cases the 'On-Screen Display' button seems to be the solution. At first I thought the button was broken, but it couldn't be if it's removing some of the text? I am using the correct remote.

    Thanks

I remember having this issue with my Trinitron and there were quite a few head scratching moments unti I figured it out. Couldnt get rid of some green display lines after asjusting the geometry.

I think it may have been the button you're talking about - a little square box?

Yeah that's it. It's roughly the same shape as the screen. Has two icons in it. It looks almost exactly like this (i+). There's also a question mark over it, which is for the 'reveal' function on the old teletext.
