    Hi all,

Looking at a 318d m sport for the last few weeks in the uk. Planning to take the plunge the weekend and all going well, go over to a dealer, pick it up and drive it home. Been looking for some time now and ive a few questions if anyone could shine any bit of light on it please!

Heard mainly positive things from cargiant, however, this particular car has been on there site for at least 4-5 weeks and been reduced once. I can only predict that it wont be in great nick when i get there.

    All in (vrt,ferry,plane etc) im looking at 17,000 yos for a 09 318d 54,000 miles........thoughts?

320d's can be got for about 400 yo more but high mileage (87,000 +) as i plan to keep this car for at least 4 years and will be doing alot of mileage here as is.

Ive been looking at a 10 gt tdi golf 68000 miles to (all in 15800 yos), but im not pushed on the golf and in my experience, depreciate quite fast in recent years compared to other high spec diesels!

    All thoughts appreciated

Yeah I looked all that up alright, may be a bit of a deal breaker for me unless I can get my hands on weather it was done already or not

A friend of mine bought a 520d from car giant. He said they're a pleasure to deal with and has had no trouble whatsoever with the car.

I loved my fathers 318 d m sport bought new in 2008. Got rid of it this year tho for a c6 S line A6

Once I heard about the timing chain issues we got rid before it end up costing him

    What about a GTD golf?

Ha, Robbie G I spent all morning looking at the golf GTD's.

Completely gone of the 3 series at this stage, some serious horror stories about.

GTD or a GT will be the way forward I think. I'm still a bit wary of the GTD and its depreciation, there not exactly a cheap car!

I got a car earlier this year from Cargiant. This car was probably on their site also for a good while, and it was reduced in the mean time as well - possibly it was even reduced just on a day I got it.
Nothing wrong with the car. Even opposite - I took it as it looked nearly brand new inside - very little wear, even though car was already 3.5 years old and 80k miles.

    I'm looking for a new car too. Either a GTD a GT TDI or a S-lINE a4

    Hard to know.
