Changing from open fire to stove

Hi all, We have an open fire with a back boiler but it won't heat all our rads ( 11 in total ). Half the house will be boiling and the other half frozen. We're looking at a stand alone or insert stove as we hope it will heat the whole house and save us money in the long run. We have oil for the mornings but its open fire…

Hi all,

We have an open fire with a back boiler but it won't heat all our rads ( 11 in total ). Half the house will be boiling and the other half frozen.

We're looking at a stand alone or insert stove as we hope it will heat the whole house and save us money in the long run.

We have oil for the mornings but its open fire for the day then with an eceltric heater in one room in the evenings.

With that amount of rads what should we be looking at, i believe we have an 18 inch boiler.

PS i haven't a clue about this stuff:o
