    Hi

Can anyone recommend somewhere that does electrolysis for hair removal - preferably in Kildare or south/west Dublin

    Thanks!

I don't know of anyone in your location but suggest that you find someone who uses the latest apilus technology. It is important that you fell no resistance when a hair is removed and have no skin reaction that does not resolve within a week. Apilus is faster and far more comfortable.

    MANY THANKS...DO YOU RECOMMEND ELECTROLYSIS??

I highly recommend electrolysis, freeing ones' self of unwanted hair is very liberating, and many of my clients say it is the single best thing they have ever done for themselves. A small percentage of people will require lifelong short maintenance treatments on certain hormonal areas (mainly the face), but the great majority do not require this. Genetically controlled areas, such as eyebrows, legs and underarms do not tend to grow more hair in females after about age 25, so they do not require any maintenance. Electrolysis is the only guaranteed method of hair removal that is medically and scientifically proven, laser hair removal works in some cases, and in other cases, can causes an increase in hair growth. Skilled technique is vital to a successful outcome, so generally it is best to find an electrologist who specializes and stakes their entire reputation on this one treatment.

I go to Therapie for laser hair removal. They have a few locations in Dublin so you can pick which is most suitable. I am beyond happy with the results; I had my 6 sessions, spaced out every 6 weeks. you can go back for a top-up once a year if you feel you need it. I got 3 areas done at the same time so it did cost money but the amount I have saved in time and energy from not shaving daily has been invaluable. I forgoe a holiday but I am just so happy with it I dont care about that! I never think about shaving, never worry about unwanted hair and think I have a razor at the back of a drawer, but more than likely, not! I was recommended Therapie by my good friend, who has used them a couple of times, and I can honestly say I havent been disapointed! you have a free inital consultation and then get your treatments if you wish. The staff are really well trained in my opinion, very professional and always so friendly when I go in. The clinic I go to on Molesworth St. is spotless and I always feel like it is a bit of 'me time' when I go. The sensation of the laser can be uncomfortable in certain areas, and you might twich a little, but still, I almost fall asleep sometimes I'm just so relaxed and comfortable there! Hope this helps, good luck :)

I am presuming that you had your lower legs, bikini line and underarms treated and for dark hair on fair skin, this is almost always a success. Other areas are far more of a gamble, especially the face and arms. I spent a whole day yesterday clearing upper arms that had worsened due to laser treatment, although this same client had a great result on his back hairs.

    Where are you based?

I am based in Sydney, Australia. I have worked with some great Irish electrologists, but they are all based in the west or south.

There's a place in Rathfarnham/Nutgrove that I used to work in, its called Inner Peace beauty rooms. They did electrolysis when I worked there, not sure if they still do it.

Most relaxing salon Ive ever been in, really lovely staff too. Maybe you could give them a ring and see?

I go to Elmes clinic on caple street in Dublin city center. she's really affordable and makes it as painless as possible bearing in mind I'm a big wimp. my skin doesn't even be red afterwards!

Does it actually work? I was having threading done but it got too expensive in the place I normally used and when I went to a new salon it was in their brochure. They said that they'd stopped doing it as it wasn't much better than laser on fair hairs and is quite painful. So I didn't look into it further.

Electrolysis treatment always works and is the only proven means of permanent hair removal. However it is very skill dependent. If you feel tweezing of the hairs during treatment, that is not electrolysis,it is tweezing. Hairs, when properly treated slide from the follicle with no resistance. This is vital to a successful outcome.
