    Taken a few mins ago in a garden in London, it's about the size of a pigeon so can't be a finch I don't think. Roughly 10-12 inches long.

    i have them and they can chase off other birds and peck at your apples....they are busy at the moment gathering up acorns for the winter here

    A common garden bird in England. We've got a few here in Wicklow but not that many. They were a vermin species with a bounty up until the 70s.

    well just came to post my news. may as well be here. saw 2 in the garden today. 1st time in 20 years they appeared in the garden. scooooore:pac:
