Friend is looking for a low maintenance commuter and interested in the Alfine groupsets rather than the nexus because of the better range of gears and because it's apparently easier to get the wheels on and off.

There used to be a Saracen Pylon 8 for like £299 but they don't make it any more. Doesn't really matter of it has 700c or 26" wheels, but bigger is better.
