Got the results back for the ewes blood tests, all ok except molybdenum was over twice the recommended level and copper was a little under the recommended level, I have given them a copper bolus so not much more I can do

Did you bring the ewes to the vet, or have him/her out to take blood?

Our blood test showed a very minor deficiency of copper too, we were told not to worry about it,but lamb thrive was so slow this year that we're going to include copper for 12 mths and see does it make a difference.
I read somewhere once that copper was a natural growth promoter, does that make sense to anyone here.
Well done Conmaicne Mara and Rovi, great to see the sheep forum

I was thinking about your lamb thrive. I wonder had a lot of it to do with the poor Spring followed by a very hot and dry spell during the Summer rather than anything else?

It was hard to keep ewes milking properly in the spring alright, you could see that in the lambs at the time
